Why Are Other People More Successful
It’s easy to walk into a gym and look at all the guys who are jacked and throwing giant weights up like they’re He-Man Master of the Gymnasium! But what you don’t see is how they started 10 years ago and had a baggy t-shirt on over a slender frame. It took dedication and effort to reach 1980s action figure levels of gainz.
You see others online starting their own business, e-commerce shop or other entrepreneurial venture. Since these people only show you the success, you get frustrated when your first idea doesn’t take off. You don’t realize that almost every one of these successful people had other ideas that fizzled, floundered or outright failed in a costly and humbling way. It often takes years of fine-tuning and testing to build a successful business. But you give up after 30 days because you didn’t get an easy win.
They may make more money or lift heavier weights, but at one point they were in your shoes. They were making the same money you make today. Or lifted the same weights you lift today. The reason they are as successful as they are: They persisted and kept growing.
There is nothing stopping you from doing the same thing. If you persist and continue to grow, you will reach that level one day. Then some young buck will look up to you hoping they can reach your level.
At that glorious moment, you’ll be able to look smug and preach some questionable bits of wisdom while also giving real actionable advice. And then he too will be able to pursue greatness. Welcome to the layer cake, son.
How To Get Real Results
Can it really be as simple as not quitting? Well, yes and no. If you want to be better than the average person, you simply need to keep putting in effort. Too many people let zero days crush their gains. They’ll skip a workout and then another. And over time they begin to let excuses steal undermine their goals.
This is why you need to have a goal that you believe in. You need accountability. And if you’d like to join a group of like-minded men who are pushing each other, join my Exclusive Men’s Group: The Spartan Tribe. Society doesn’t want men forging a powerful brotherhood. That is why you keep seeing women invade men only spaces like gaming and the internet.
Your close circle of friends has an enormous impact on you. If your friends are a bunch of drunks, they’re gonna hit you up every weekend to go to the bar. If they’re fitness junkies, they’re gonna hit you up to go to the gym. And on those days when you’re not quite feeling like putting in the effort, your friends are likely going to have a big impact on what actions you take. On these days, you’re more likely to go with the flow.
You need more than goals – you need a system! This is why workout routines are so effective. Some days you won’t feel like doing the workout. Check out the Spartan Bodyweight Weekly Routine. This routine is perfect for those who don’t have access to a gym right now. By using bodyweight, you don’t need any equipment to get in shape.
Most People Give Up Too Easily
Last week Alyssa Milano was whining on Twitter about how Joe Rogan’s Podcast was more popular than hers. This was a thinly veiled social critique. She views herself as the ultra-progressive intellectual and Joe as a bro science dudebro who is somehow guilty of wrongthink. But there’s more than meets the eye here. What she conveniently left out is the fact that her podcast is about a year old and Joe Rogan’s is over 10 years old.
This is loser mentality. Someone is more successful than me, so they must have an unfair advantage. So rather than do the hard work, she complains about his viewers/listeners being ignorant or whatever. She doesn’t even have a point. She just screams in Caps Lock and says, “Dear god.”
She blames the President. She blames Joe Rogan. She blames Americans. She never looks inward. She never blames herself. She never acknowledges her own accountability. And that is why she fails. Also she can’t stop eating Cheezits.
Actionable Advice to Become More Successful
Set a timer for 30 minutes and read every day
NO PHONE! No Distractions. Everyone has 30 minutes to spend more effectively and reading will give you more interesting topics to write and talk about. Do this for 30 days and you’ll be a significantly more interesting person.
Give up alcohol
If your weekend is a drunken blur, you are sleepwalking thru life. I’m so much happier for no longer living like this. Full sobriety or moderation is up to you. But recognize all the ways alcohol is holding you back. My advice to you is to go 30 days without alcohol and note the difference you see in your mood and performance.
Stop playing video games all weekend
This one always ruffles some feathers but bear with me. Gaming is fun but it’s a colossal time-sink. Be honest with yourself here. How many hours a week do you devote to video games? Gaming also giving your brain a false sense of accomplishment. Quit gaming for 30 days and pay attention to how much better your life is. You’ll find you suddenly have more time for reading books, building that website or hitting the gym.
What Are You Going to Do To Be More Successful?
There’s nothing to be gained from complaining or being jealous of someone else’s success. It’s not about how you were dealt a bad hand, or how your girl betrayed you or how your parents raised you poorly. That’s all in the past. What matters now is the future. What are you going to do about it now? What can you do today to positively change your life?

Why We Run
We don't run to lose weight. We don’t run just to work out. Sure, those are benefits, but they’re not the reasons we lace up our shoes and hit the pavement or the trail day after day. Running transcends fitness goals and calorie counts. It’s not about shaving seconds off your mile time or staying in shape—though we all want those things, too. Running is about something deeper, something that goes beyond the physical.
