What to Do When You Don’t Feel Like Yourself
Wanna know a secret? We all falter sometimes. Me especially. But I thrive here because I know how to fix these issues.
First off, you need to recognize when you are slipping and acknowledge it. Put your ego aside for a moment and accept that you’re not giving it your best. Maybe you ate some bad processed food. Maybe you didn’t sleep well. Maybe your fucking chi is off. Whatever. Accept it.
Step two, you need to realign yourself. This will take some trial and error, but in a couple months it will become second nature. Keep a notebook handy and write down what works best for getting yourself back on track when you stumble.
Here are some examples of what I find to be helpful here:
Exercise. I almost always start my day with some exercise. Even in the middle of the day. Sometimes I need to pump out ten pushups and I’m back on track.
Get outside for a few minutes. We aren’t meant to spend every day under harsh fluorescent lighting. Take a quick walk during lunch and enjoy some fresh air. Unplug for a bit and appreciate the beauty of life. Don’t look at your phone. This is your break so fight the impulse to check sportscenter or Facebook. Enjoy some peace and quiet while you soak in some Vitamin D.
Chug some water. Most of the common ailments that you face can be solved by drinking more water. You likely don’t drink nearly enough water. Consider carrying a steel water bottle with you everywhere and watch your sense of being improve.
Reading from The Meditations. As a creator, you still must consume some content for advice, wisdom and a different perspective. The great Roman Emperor has amazing timeless wisdom here. It helps me and it can help you.
Meditation. Take a few minutes every day to focus on nothing but your breathing. This is simple but life-changing advice. Weather permitting, I prefer to do this outside. I feel a more natural connection to real world when I meditate outside.
Journal. Get out your handy dandy notebook start writing out your thoughts. Put pen to paper to take the troubles on your mind and remove them. If you’re struggling with this, you’re not alone. I get questions almost every day asking me how to start writing. I’m writing a short and to the point eBook that will give you some guidance and maybe even help you become a paid writer such as myself. It’s available for pre-order here.
We all stumble sometimes. It’s natural. You can give yourself an unfair advantage by being proactive here and setting up a game plan. Write out in a journal what you find most effective staying focused and productive.
If this is more than a simple occasional issue, then you may need to reevaluate your life plan. This could be the perfect time to reinvent yourself. My book, Reclaim Your Manhood is meant for the man who is unsatisfied with his life or going through challenging times. It is the ultimate handbook for the man looking to get his life on the right path.

Why We Run
We don't run to lose weight. We don’t run just to work out. Sure, those are benefits, but they’re not the reasons we lace up our shoes and hit the pavement or the trail day after day. Running transcends fitness goals and calorie counts. It’s not about shaving seconds off your mile time or staying in shape—though we all want those things, too. Running is about something deeper, something that goes beyond the physical.
